The Dewey Short Visitors Center


The US Army Corps of Engineer's Dewey Short Visitors Center is located 6 miles west of US Hwy 65 on State Hwy 165 at the south end of Table Rock Dam in Branson Missouri. It is open 7 days a week from 9 am to 5 pm from April 1 to October 31.The center features exhibits detailing the natural history of the area. The center offers three short films you can watch:Taming of the Riviera Blanche (20 minutes): an introduction to The Table Rock Lake/White River area in Branson Missouri, detailing the construction and purpose of Table Rock DamWhere Eagles Soar (14 minutes): The story of how eagles were brought back from endangerment in MissouriThe Expedition of Lewis and Clark, 1804-1806 (32 minutes): Tells of their exploration, encounters, objectives and accomplishments during their journeyThere is a courtesy dock on the Visitor Center grounds, if you’re visiting by way of boat. Bring a swimsuit, a fishing pole, a good book, or a picnic for a leisurely afternoon on the shoreline of Table Rock Lake. Don’t forget your camera! The scenery is beautiful and you’ll want to take many photos while you are here.

The Table Rock Lakeshore Trail is also adjacent to the Visitors Center.
